That dance really needs to be performed on a proper stage, with the lights low. Very inspirational, and you two did a great job. Perfect music choices, too. :) IMHO we don't see enough of this sort of theatrical dancing in the belly dance world!

Comment on Part 3 - Techno-Medical Mumbo-Jumbo

Hey, Iz.

How much of this has improved greatly over the years? How much are you still coping with? How do you deal with the dancing aspects: the music, the lights, the audience, etc? I see it's been four years since you originally wrote this. ... Just curious.

Comment on Initializing...

You know, as I am starting to rehearse Msafer for Glastonbury, you are not alone in thinking I've danced to this song before...I swear I never have! But the more of you who think I have, the more I wonder if there is another memory I have lost to Dain Bramage! Hahahaha! See you soon!

Comment on Into the Labyrinth

Hey sweetie! Thanks for the post! I finally got access back into this blog. (had some computer problems for awhile there) So glad you enjoyed this! Hope all is well with you! Hugs!
Iz

Comment on Initializing...

re - clip of Izzy dancing to msafret I think that is how its spelt....loved it but can't find it again on utube or what dvd its on can anyone help????

Comment on Into the Labyrinth

Reading your magical story I've realized something- things that keep us back or those we're afraid of can be... our friends. Our guards. The stronger the fear is, the more powerful friend we have when we see that it's not acting against us but to protect us. So instead of being afraid I'm becoming aware. My fear becomes my power. My weakness- my armour. My ignorance and a strong will to do something with it, my hunger for knowledge- so natural for a child (and I often feel I'm just a child somewhere between the folds of the Light Parent's nature-robe)- they all are my sword. When the Light guides me there's no reason to be scared. Even if something looks dreadful it's always worth to bring a small candle, take a closer look, ask "Why?" and then decide if it's indeed something dangerous and evil or just attentive in it's rough way. If we should fight against it or accept and even like it. Evil can often look sweet and attractive. Good can look dangerous or beyond our range. But it's worth to seek for it and to fight against our own weakness and fears. And always finish what we're really longing for. Then we can be so happy and proud of ourselves that- hey! we did it! :) Thank you for this lesson!
Best wishes,
Kasia.

Comment on Part 3 - Techno-Medical Mumbo-Jumbo

Yay! You know, this is one of the many reasons why I put all this out there--because without all the accounts I read by other people who had head injuries, and the people in my life who knew about these sorts of things and urged me to get it checked out, I would have been wandering around in the tooley bushes wondering what the heck was wrong with me. "The Hidden Injury." There is a reason it is called that. It has been forever since I was on here--haven't been receiving my comment notifications--did you ever get it checked out? Or has enough time passed and now you just know how you are affected?

Many well wishes and continued healing!!!
~Iz

Comment on Surfacing

Ohhh, I love that story! As for the mask...when I dance, I suppose it's all there for anyone who truly looks. I don't do fluffy really well. *wink* I am always saying something when I dance, telling some sort of story about things that are going on or have gone on. But it's definitely interesting to watch the surprise come into view--that I can do what do onstage, yet after...I take a lot of people by surprise. But I am both. The stage smile is not plaster--it goes all the way down. And there are a lot of layers beneath, cracked and watering seedlings. I think I couldn't do what I do without both.

Comment on Dancing with Death

Purrrrrrrrrrr...you know, I've considered it. And then there are all those pesky names I'd have to change and really do a whole heck of a lot of fictionalizing to "protect the not-so-innocent" for some certain circumstances. You know most of them. I go back and forth on this issue. I actually have quite a bit of it already written. Not that anyone's ever read it. Occasionally I will share a snippet or a poem to a very close friend...ahem. I'm just not sure what I want to do with it all yet so for the moment, I just write for me. I'm sure we'll have more discussions about this the next time we are able to have tea...mmmm...tea............

Love you and miss you mucho!!!!!

Comment on Dancing with Death

You know, it's interesting that you mention this. I've actually been working on committing this list to writing. It is looooong. And lately, I have been having to use every trick in my bag in order to keep inspired. I plan on sharing it and some other stuff once I finally compile it and organize it.
